Is there a time when-
We must try harder,
To push aside questions,
On the why’s and where-afters?
Is it too easy to -
Say it’s too late -
To open the doors
When we’ve bolted the gate?
Time moves on at pace,
Don’t look to what’s been,
Think more to the future,
And things you’ve never seen.
But I don’t want to change,
I like this backseat -
Where no-one can see me,
And there’s no-one to meet.
And I see here before me-
A taste of what’s true,
A vision of solitude-
A world without you.
Must I move with the times,
As the years roll on by?
With all the effort entailed,
While in the shadows I cry.
Take me with you awhile,
Away from all this -
And tomorrow, I promise,
I’ll live again on a wish
Oh…that last line is just too beautiful for words…love it!
