Secrets from Before

A scent, a colour, a dream
A glimpse of times too fast
Thoughts shaped by something seen
turn present into past

A day, a week, a year
Echoes of long ago
Cling to me so near,
I cannot let them go

A moment, a person, a smile
Secrets from before
Make me stop for a while,
tempting me with more

A haven, a net, a home
To wander through the days
Finding solace alone
In past, and present ways

This poem reminds me of being in a reflective mood when we are somewhere else in our mind’s eye, just pure escapism or perhaps we are examing past life regression.Have we all been here before?,nice going kiddo

It is striking that little things duirng the day…like a smell can engender an old memory…I quite like the way you addressed this in your poem.

Well one good turn deserves a favour, have you been a nurse long? i used to be a nurse working for S.T.H.,your writing is an exampe to us all of how a cultivated mind can really strike a chord with other readers. Thanks for subscribing to my blog.I’m affraid i have only updated “FLAME OF THE HIGHLANDS” thus far but from a presentation point of view the layout is better.Blogspot.com bunches up all of the sentences together and makes you look like a heck or a hillbilly.Take care Eileen
