Two Little Lives

Picture prompt courtesy of Bluebell Books

A seed that grows,
Must be tendered just right,
Cared for and loved,
With just enough light.

With patience and hard work,
And time passing slow,
The seed starts to bud,
The seed starts to grow.

Increasing in strength,
And spreading it’s roots,
It breaks through the soil,
Sprouting new shoots.

With little fingers,
And tiny hands,
Wrapped around the bud,
Where it stands,

Eyes a-wonder,
Eyes aglow,
Eager to watch,
The little bud grow.

Two little buds,
Starting out in life,
Oblivious to danger,
Trouble and strife.

Dependant on others,
To keep them from harm,
To care and to love them,
Keep them safe and warm.

Two tiny lives,
To cherish and nourish,
Watch them both grow,
Watch them both flourish.
