One More Kiss

Laughter lines and soft grey eyes,
A fair and gentle face.
I miss you smiling back at me,
As your features I retrace.

I map out your face –
And recall one look,
Binding us together –
Like the pages of a book.

Beyond your eyes,
Lies your soul to see –
Reaching out for someone,
Reaching out to me.

Your touch, your smell,
Are harder to find –
But I see you still,
In the corners of my mind.

I see shades of you –
Like shadows of my past,
Your smile, your laugh,
All gone now too fast.

To see you, to hold you,
But more than all of this –
There’s nothing I wouldn’t do,
For just one more kiss
