Night Terror

Feeling so low,
Unwilling to let go,
Taking the final blow,
Feeling the blast.

Caught in a dream,
Unable to scream,
The same old theme,
From the past.

The cut is too deep,
The pain is too steep,
I silently weep,
Shadow cast.

I feel you near,
It’s you I hear,
To run from the fear,
And fast.

Tattered and torn,
Finished and worn,
Lost and alone,
At last.

Running from the past can take so much energy…indeed it will leave one “tattered and torn.”
